HFE Economic Research Awards – Fifth Cycle (2026)

Al Hussein Fund for Excellence, in cooperation with the Central Bank of Jordan, announces the opening of nominations for the HFE Economic Research Awards – Fifth Cycle (2026).

 

Objective of the Awards

The awards aim to support and stimulate applied research in all economic fields, as well as financial and banking issues relevant to the Jordanian economy. They also seek to strengthen the relationship between economic researchers in Jordanian universities and institutions and the Central Bank of Jordan.

 

Award Fields

The awards are granted in four main areas:

  • Monetary Policy
  • Banking Sector and Financial Technology
  • Growth Drivers within the Economic Modernization Vision
  • Labor Economics and Productivity

 

Awards

Each award consists of a trophy, a certificate, and a monetary prize. Awards are granted in three categories within each of the four fields mentioned above, as follows:

  • JOD 4,000: Best Research Paper Award
  • JOD 4,000: Best Master’s Thesis Award
  • JOD 4,000: Best PhD Dissertation Award

 

Nomination Criteria

Nominations are open to individuals and research groups, subject to the following conditions:

  • The research must be submitted in either Arabic or English.
  • The research must meet scientific research standards in terms of methodology, academic writing, documentation, and references.
  • At least one of the researchers must be Jordanian or affiliated with a university or institution operating in Jordan.
  • The submitted research must not be older than two years (as of 1/2/2026).
  • The research must include practical, applicable recommendations of importance to the Jordanian economy.
  • The research must not have been submitted to previous cycles of the award or received other awards.

 

General Conditions

  • Submitted nomination applications and research works will not be returned to applicants.
  • The Award Management Committee reserves the right to withhold any award without stating the reasons.
  • No objections or inquiries regarding the administrative or scientific decisions of the award will be accepted.

 

Deadline

The final date for receiving nomination applications is 30/7/2026.
